Volunteer

Dhamma Volunteer Group UK (DVGUK)

We recognise the importance of mobilising volunteers to support our monastery’s regular programs and community service initiatives.

To fulfil this need, Bhante Arunasiri has guided the formation of the Dhamma Volunteer Group UK (DVGUK) – an independent group open to all who wish to engage in volunteer service guided by Buddhist values.

DVGUK welcomes volunteers of all nationalities, castes, creeds, religions and ethnic backgrounds. The only requirement is a sincere motivation to assist others through compassionate action.

Volunteers contribute their skills and time towards various tasks that keep the monastery functioning and enable outreach services. By working together in this spirit of selfless dāna, we can create great benefit.

Some key tasks volunteers can assist with:

    • Supporting the monastery library
    • Helping at the Dhamma school
    • Coordinating events and youth activities
    • Managing websites and IT tasks
    • Transcribing and editing Dhamma material
    • Gardening and maintenance work
    • Providing transport for monastics
    • Organizing cultural/social events

DVGUK provides a platform for putting Buddha’s teachings on altruism into practice. We encourage all who resonate with this vision to get involved. Guidance will be provided to volunteers irrespective of prior experience.

If you would like to offer your time and skills to support the monastery’s spiritual mission, please contact DVGUK. Serving others is a meritorious act. Together, we can create positive change.
